Software Featuress

Our simulators are among the very best available.  They are based on the same technology that is used to train police officers, emergency responders and professional race drivers.

They accurately reflect the behavior of a real vehicle in every way, from braking and steering to the feel of  the shoulder when a wheel drops off the road. Even subtle clues to vehicle handling, such as understeer, oversteer and brake lockup are accurately represented by this technology.

The accuracy of our simulators is what allows us to say "the driving may be simulated, but the skills are real.

Realistic vehicle handling
Realistic braking
Realistic traffic patterns, with many random elements
The instructor can also change traffic to challenge the students
Teaches basic defensive driving skills
Encourages proactive scanning and hazard recognition.
Its not a game, but it is a lot of fun!

Simulator based training has several advantages:
*Simulator training is effective.  Because there is no danger, students learn in a relaxing environment, increasing their retention.  A recent Dutch study showed that 6-8 hours of simulator training  effectively replaced 20 hours of real driving.
*Simulator training is repeatable.  Habits are formed through repitition, and in most dangerous driving situations we rely on our habits and skills to guide us.  Many of these skills are learned through years of practice that can now be duplicated in mere hours.
*Simulator training is affordable.  Because there is no wasted gas or tires, and no damage to vehicles, simulator training  is a fraction of the cost of real world advanced driver training, which may cost over $1000 for a few hours of training.
* Simulator training is error based training.  In a risk-free environment students are free to make mistakes and learn from them in a way that is not possible outside of a simulator.  Error-based training has consistently proven to be more effective than training methods that do not allow errors.
